[OS X TeX] OT: Looking for a PDF editor on Linux

Hi all,

Colleagues of mine are looking for a way to edit PDF files on Linux
computers. Do you know whether a Linux PDF editor does exist? Adobe
Acrobat turns out to be only available on Mac and Windows, and xpdf has
apparently no editing capabilities. Paying for the software is not an
issue, the problem is only to be able to do the work on Linux (most of
my colleagues are Fedora, some are Debian -- and some are switching to
OS X, too ;-).

Some googling brought up a solution
<http://applications.linux.com/article.pl?sid=05/01/06/
0612209&tid=49&tid=47> involving Xfig and flpsed, but another solution
involving as few conversions between formats as possible (ideally a
single application, with GUI) would be better. I was surprised to find
no existing GNU project about this, but maybe I've not looked at the
appropriate places.
