Howdy,

I believe that environement is a remnant of when the author was putting the
article together and it shouldn't be there.

Did it typeset alright after eliminating the environment? I had to fix up
line endings and replace what you had as spaces with space characters in the
e-mail I received to get it to compile; but then it compiled fine after
removing that overlying environment.
