Hello - 

I'd recommend having a look at Eddie Kohler's TypeTools package 
(http://www.lcdf.org/type/  --  note. This is also available as an
i-Package).   The utility of interest is otftotfm
(http://www.lcdf.org/type/otftotfm.1.html).  Otftotfm has both
automatic and manual settings so you have control over where stuff goes
if you need it.  

There was a thread on comp.text.tex started on 6 Aug 2004 (Subj: PS
flavored Opentype fonts in LaTeX) discussing the package.
