Forward-looking font format, Unicode support, richer character set.

As I noted in my e-mail, OpenType is rather awkward to use in LaTeX 
unless one uses XeTeX ( http://www.sil.org/xetex ). If using XeTeX 
appeals, then by all mean get OT.
