[OS X TeX] letter size paper in tetex and TeXshop

I am not sure if all programs, but atleast LaTeX is (probably TeX as well). One way to check is to open the resulting pdf in Adobe Reader 6. At the bottom left of the document, it mentions the size of the page. If it say 8.5 x 11in, you are all set.
