[OS X TeX] New TeX i-Package released

Having looked at what the XeTeX disk image does, there should be no 
problem.

But my guess is something on your system (another TeX perhaps) is 
screwing things up. XeTeX's installer patches the program fmtutil and 
it patches the ocnfig file fmtutil.cfg in such a way that the error 
below should not happen. If it does happen, you might be using another 
fmtutil program or another fmtutil.cnf file than those that XeTeX 
patched.

The only way I can help you out is if you send me far more information.
