[OS X TeX] microtype.sty and german.sty

Howdy,

I don't know if this is completely relevant but the documentation for
microtype has a caveat that the package should be loaded as early as
possible.

``Load the microtype package as early as possible. The package will only see
fonts the first time they are selected. If a font has been called before
this package is loaded, it will not be set up for protrusion or expansion.
(This does not apply to the default font, though.) ''
