[OS X TeX] Help! Dissertation due and long dashes are faint.

Howdy,

You've also got to add the line

\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}

and, to get more symbols,

\usepackage{textcomp}

But I certainly don't have problems with latin modern italic and bold.
