If you had ever made a typeface, you wouldn't view that price as 
inflated. A typeface is typically a one-time sale --- unlike the old 
days when worn-out matrices or type had to be continually renewed, or 
film fonts replaced as equipment was upgraded.

If you mislike the price, there are now a lot of free alternatives, so 
don't trouble yourself.

Fonts are among the most pirated of computer software, and sales are 
typically very low except for a few examples (big game hunter effect).
