I am not sure if this can help. However, for PostScript files one
roundabout way to gather information on the bounding box in GS 7.05,
which does not reply on the bbox device, is to use the command
"ps2epsi". This is a script which uses its own algorithm to compute the
bounding box of a PostScript file. Unfortunately, "ps2epsi" does not
compute the high resolution bounding box. Furthermore, the action of
this command results in a .epsi file, which means that to get the
bounding box information one must parse this file or modify the
"ps2epsi" script so that only the bounding box information is output.
