[OS X TeX] OSX Printing problems

Hi Paul

I think your message it probably off topic for the list.  So I am replying 
direct.

I have used OS X with HPpostscript laserprinters, Xerox Document Centres, 
and an  HP 970cxi Deskjet.  I have not had any problems with any of these 
since 10.1.  The HP printers have always worked properly.

OTOH I have on one occasion tried to use an Epson S40.  The driver for 
that was a dog.  Maybe Epson have fixed it.

I have almost stamped out my last OS 9 app - Lotus Notes (OS X version due 
for releases in a couple of months).  Nothing would pursuade me to go back 
to OS 9.  OS X is much much much better.  Get plenty of DRAM and a modern 
Mac.  This last will be more significant with Jaguar (10.2) which will 
move a lot of the groovy graphics work to the display card.  Older display 
chips won't be supported.  Apple are obviously in the business of writing 
software to fully exploit hardware.
