[OS X TeX] ArabTeX on Mac OSX

Has anyone successfully installed ArabTeX (available in the standard 
places) under Mac OS X (ideally for use with TeXShop and teTeX)? My 
attempts at installation have been unsuccessful: when TeXing a document, 
most (but not all) macros are recognised, and none of the Arabic glyphs 
render.  Could any TeXpert out there give it a try (the distribution 
includes sample files to test the outcome). Thanks.
