[OS X TeX] where/how can i get DeTeX for OSX?

OK, that's exactly the reason of existence of fink. It is a package
manager, which automatically downloads, patches, compiles, installs,
and updates unix packages with simple commands as "fink install
detex". So, I suggest you to install fink (it comes with a simple
double-clickable installer) and then type in the magic words: 
"fink install detex"
This will download, patch, compile, and install detex.

The installer is at: <http://fink.sourceforge.net/download/index.php>

By the way, there are currently 1251 unix packages available in fink.
