[OS X TeX] Alphatk and tex applications

I've uploaded a new version of Alphatk (8.2b6) which now has reasonable
interoperability with TeX applications. I believe that any application
that used to work under classic with Alpha 7 will now work under OSX with
Alphatk, with communication via apple-events. For example OzTeX has been
tested and works. Also launching, say, Acrobat to view pdf documents also
works fine.

teTeX also works as a command-line tool (and this is more seamless than in
the previous releases).

The one that only partially works in TeXShop. This is because I don't yet
know what apple-events AlphaX/tk should be sending to TeXShop. Currently
for .tex and .pdf I just send an 'open document' event. Any
suggestions/help much appreciated there.

A few other bugs have also been fixed ("Not enough menus" is the only
really serious bug fix), but for this release I have focused on getting
tex-interoperability working much better.

Please go to:

and
http://alphatcl.sourceforge.net/wikit/81.html

for a variety of known issues and instructions for tex usage. For latest
releases, please go to:

(which should be updated soon with the new release).

cheers,

Vince.
