[lucida] Problems with Lucida Installation

Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is Anil Rao.  I have a licensed copy of the Lucida Bright Math
and Lucida Bright Math Expert fonts that I purchased several years ago
from Y&Y (before they went out of business).  I have been using the
fonts for years and have ported them between computers successfully
until this last time.  This past week I updated from OpenSuse 10.2 to
OpenSuse 10.3 and I am now unable to get any text boldface characters to
appear.  Oddly enough, I can use \boldsymbol characters (e.g.,
\boldsymbol{\omega} appears bold), but when I type \section{This is a
Section}, the section heading does not come in bold (it comes in
non-bold).  Also, when I type {\bf text}, I get non-bold.

I have no idea what is going on, but I am sure that dvips is not finding
the bold Lucida fonts because when I run dvips the output is MISSING the
fonts lbr.pfb and lbmd.pfb (which give me bold characters).  I am,
however, getting lbmo.pfb, lbme.pfb, and lbms.pfb in the dvips output.

I would be grateful if somebody could help me figure out what is going
wrong.
