So it was so simple... I thought executable were hacked somehow in
distros (which is the case for MikTeX, I believe, but my knowledge on
that matter is close to zero).
I should read your blog more often, Manuel.
Merci!

I'm fed up with trying to solve the following problem all by myself and
pretty sure I won't succeed. That's why now I ask for help.
I'm using LuaTeX's latest builds, 0.52 recently and now v0.6, but I'm
totally unable to build a proper TDS and above all have LuaTeX use it,
so all my files are in one directory with the executable, and it's
pretty annoying because I use luaotfload, for instance, which calls many
files, and the directory is an awful mess.
So is there anybody here that could help me have a clean installation
with luatex? Perhaps you should answer to me directly instead of here,
since it's probably an uninteresting topic to most of you.

I think the best solution is to use a TeX distribution, such as TeX Live (you
can choose a minimal install if you want), and add your newer LuaTeX executable
to this distribution. You can either just replace the luatex executable by your
own version, but this may cause your executable to be replaced again by the
distro's version when you update your distro, or you can follow the procedure
explained (in French) here:
http://weblog.elzevir.fr/2009/02/integrer-un-luatex-recent-a-tex-live/
Hope that helps, and feel free to request more detailed explanations if needed.
Manuel.
