Just to avoid any misunderstandings, my expectation was not that luatex
should use fribidi’s high-level api directly, but rather that it could
provide a lua binding to fribidi’s whole API.  Lua code could then do
whatever bidi users need/want and still take advantage of the speed
benefits of compiled code.

My apologies for any confusion I may have generated by presuming that
that would go without saying.

Laptop and larger systems might be fast enough that compiled vs
interpreted may not make a difference, but I’d like to be able to
render ΤεΧ real-time on tablets and the like.
