[luatex] distro-specific lua file?

Hello,

What do you think about a distrib.lua containing all the distro-specific 
stuff? Like name, version and date of the distribution, but also for 
instance the name of the .mem file for luatex-mplib, as it can be any 
and each distro has to decide for one... With Karl we came up with 
luatex-plain.mem. What kind of other things would go in it?
