It is... and only for a set of them.

Microtype is working for LuaTeX the same way it does with pdfTeX (a bit 
worse actually...), so all that happens in luaotfload is totally new and 
never worked before in microtype. As it's quite independant, I thought 
it would be good to separate it a bit from microtype...

But anyway, one of the goals of microtype is to store values of 
protrusion and expansion for different fonts, meaning that they are 
really fine tuned for these fonts, and I'm not sure this kind of things 
would belong to luaotfload or fontspec... I think luaotfload should 
provide an interface to pass these values to the algorithm, and that 
another package should provide them; but it could provide default values 
that could be activated automatically. Wdyt?
