[l2h] Black borders

I use  LaTeX2HTML Version 99.2beta8 (1.43). 
My OS is Linux 2.4.18 (SuSE 8.0).

My problem:

Running latex2html, it creates png-Graphics for each math expression.
Nearly all of them have a black line alt the left side and at the bottom ( few 
only at the left side)

Some have a grey Background ( it is possible to change it with StarOffice 5.2 
to transparent

As a newbie I found no hint, how to change this setting.
