texd -- Mailing list of the TeX Daemon, texd

About texd
English (USA)

TeX is a batch program, but by piping its input and output, it can be used as the formatting engine for interactive programs. This is the TeX daemon.

The first such application is Instant Preview, which provides a semi-wysiwyg front end to LaTeX (and other TeX formats).

This list is devoted to the development and use of the TeX daemon.

The immediate tasks are to:

1) Produce version 0.2 of Instant Preview
2) Provide help to users and adminstrators
3) Port the software to Win32 and Mac OS X
4) Move towards a sockets interface
5) Produce a protype callable function wrapper

Contributions along these and other lines are welcome.
