There was no carryover from 2005. TUG donated $2000, individual and other contributions totaled $634, and an additional donation of $600 was received from CSTUG. The total amount in the fund was therefore $3234.
The application deadline for TUG 2006 was Friday, June 9, 2006 (for the conference in Marrakesh, Morocco from November 9 through 11, 2006).
Two applications for Bursary awards were received prior to the deadline.
The Bursary Committee examined the applications and voted to fund both of them. They were both funded in full.
The amount initially awarded was $1718. One recipient was unable to attend at the last moment. Thus The total finally awarded was $1118.00.
Since the amount awarded was less than the amount in the fund, there will be a carryover of $2116 for TUG 2007.
The Bursary Committee for 2006 was composed of Jana Chlebikova, Bogusław Jackowski, Kaja Christiansen, Dave Walden (TUG Treasurer) and Sam Rhoads (Chairman).
